Fiorentina chief gives verdict on Manchester United loanee, Sofyan Amrabat
Fiorentina midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat has endured a tough season during his loan spell with Manchester United this past season. The Morrocan midfielder failed to have an impact during the beginning of the season.
Then came the injuries and Amrabat had to spend some time on the sidelines. However, the 27-year-old improved on his performances near the end of the season and might have even made a case for himself to be extended.
The National News (h/t Manchester Evening News) reports that the Fiorentina midfielder wishes to stay at Manchester United. Here’s what the Fiorentina chief, Daniele Prade had to say about Amrabat’s future with the team.
“I would keep him in Florence but it doesn’t seem like what he has in mind. I think he wants to stay in the Premier League but we haven’t heard from anyone yet since.”
As confirmed by Prade himself he has not heard anything from United regarding the extension of Amrabat’s loan. A bit weird for the man who played a key role in helping Erik ten Hag and the Red Devils win the FA Cup.
When the Morrocan got to play his preferred role as a number 6, his footballing intelligence was on full display. If he can be consistent, the Red Devils would be much better off with Amrabat in the squad.
However, his poor form from the beginning of the season might not be overlooked because he showed up for a few games near the end.
