Ratcliffe’s rebuild? Man United may sell Rashford to fund transfers
Manchester United FC ace Marcus Rashford has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford following an inconsistent series of performances in the recently concluded campaign.
The Red Devils forward is one of the most highly regarded players on English soil; however, he has not been able to replicate performances with the consistency expected of him, leaving fans and pundits questioning his suitability for the team. The fact that Gareth Southgate did not call him up for the upcoming European Championships shows how far the 26-year-old has fallen since last season.
Manchester Reds’ new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will be looking to take advantage of the ‘pure profit’ loophole to raise funds. The ‘pure profit’ loophole is that when a club sells an academy player, they can consider 100% of the funds as profits in their financial statements. And a Marcus Rashford sale can help generate ample funds for the club to go on a spending spree and reinvent the team with new faces.
Fresh start needed? Gallas urges Chelsea to sign Rashford
Former Chelsea star William Gallas has urged the Blues to sign the England international in the upcoming summer transfer window. He acknowledges the qualities that the 26-year-old possesses and insists that Stamford Bridge could provide Rashford with a much-needed fresh start. The Frenchman also questioned the probabilities behind an underwhelming season; however, he thinks if Marcus were to leave Old Trafford, his former club should be lining up with a red carpet to snap his services up.
Speaking in an interview with Genting Casino, Gallas said:
“There will always be quality players who are interested in signing for Chelsea, but we have to ask if Rashford would want to leave Manchester United.
“Nobody knows the reason; maybe he has a problem with Erik ten Hag; if he leaves, then Rashford could stay. For a player like Rashford, we want to see the exciting young player who broke through on fire, running everywhere, and scoring beautiful goals.
“He had a lot of commitment then as well; now he is not the same player. Maybe injuries have been a problem, and another club for a fresh start could be the right option, and Chelsea would provide this for him.”

Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be targetting Marcus Rashford, as he is believed to be one of the players that the French side is targeting as a replacement for out-going Kylian Mbappe.
As of now, there is nothing concrete; it will be a surprise if he leaves United this summer. However, you never know; we need to see how the new owners take to this.
