Man United sweat on Bruno Fernandes future
Manchester United FC are looking at a massive summer transfer window ahead of them; however, they could end up losing Bruno Fernandes, with German giants Bayern Munich holding talks with the Portuguese midfield maestro, per Mirror.
The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder has been one of the integral figures at Old Trafford since his move to Manchester in 2020; however, that hasn’t deterred potential suitors from making approaches off late. There have been wide reports about Bayern Munich looking to bring the Manchester Reds skipper to Allianz Arena this summer.
Bruno Fernandes is under contract at the club until 2026 per the current deal, and the German giants are seemingly looking to pursue his signature.
Love vs Ambition?
Portuguese outlet O Jogo insists that Fernandes agent Miguel Pinho has already opened talks with Bayern ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The report names Barcelona as a potential destination alongside Vincent Kompany’s Bayern.
Fernandes has been at United for four-and-a-half years and does not have any major silverware to show for it. He would be looking to pursue trophies in his next destination as the Portuguese midfielder comes into his prime age. During his time at Old Trafford, he scored 79 goals and laid 65 assists in 232 appearances, wearing the Red Devils badge.
He did speak about his intention to stay following United’s recent FA Cup triumph against Manchester City in an interview with The Player Tribune, stating his love for the club.
“I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.” Bruno drops hints about his stay at Old Trafford in the build-up to the FA Cup final.
