Manchester United fan turned Chelsea star picks scoring against the Red Devils as his favourite moment from last season

Manchester United wre left amazed when Chelsea beat them a couple of months ago with two stoppage time goals. It was all going well for the Red Devils woh were up 3-2 with 85 minutes of the game played.

However, Disaster struck during stoppage time as Cole Palmer netted twice to put the Blues up 4-3. Erik ten Hag and his crew were left with a bitter taster in their mouth as the Stamford Bridge crowd celebrated a much needed win..

Palmer was a Manchester United fan growing up so him beating them to keep Chelsea and the fans’ hopes of alive of a European spot was a very emotional moment for him. Especially after the kind of season he’d been having with the blues. Here’s what he had to say about it. (h/t Sport Bible)

“For emotions, the 4-3 game against United at Stamford Bridge was probably my favourite moment,”

Palmer went onto explain how Chelsea had not beaten Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in quite some time now. He added that they needed that win to challenge for a place in Europe and the way it happened was big.

Chelsea eventually went onto qualify for the Europa League. However, the Red Devils came back to haunt them and won the FA Cup finals against Man City. Due to their win the Blues will now be playing in the UECL while United plays in the UEL.

Surely we can expect any meeting between Manchester United and Chelsea to be special from now on. Both teams are nurturing some amazing talents and their rivalries will be a spectacle in a few years time.
