Manchester United star sends emotional message to Edinson Cavani
Former Manchester United star, Edinson Cavani has decided to hang up his boots. The 37-year-old has announced his retirement from football and it’s safe to say that the game is losing a legend.
Facundo Pellistri seems to agree with the legend part as he sent out an emotional message to Cavani via Instagram. The 22-year-old wrote “Gracias por todo Leyenda” as he posted a picture of the Uruguayan on his story.
Pellistri’s message to Cavani directly translates to, “Thanks for everything Legend”. The 37-year-old has surely done enough to solidify has status as a legend in the eyes of many fan bases across Europe.
Cavani’s time at Manchester United was not as successful as the two would’ve liked. However, he still had a stellar career scoring 383 goals and recording 73 assists over the course of 682 games.
During his time at the top, the Uruguayan won a plethora of titles. Including individual and team trophies Cavani has a total of 34 trophies to decorate his cabinet. Only thing missing from the 37-year-old’s impressive resume is a UCL trophy.
However, Cavani has even seen international glory winning the Copa America with Uruguay back in 2011. It’s safe to say that the 37-year-old won’t be leaving the pitch with many regrets. Another legend of the game is hanging up his boots.

During his last season spent with Boca Juniors Cavani made 18 appearances recording 12 goals. He might not have been a success at Old Trafford but the crowd will celebrate him regardless of that.
