Manchester United sources deliver verdict on Celtic signing
Manchester United was the topic of conversation in Turkey as people speculated about the singing of Altay Bayindir by Celtic. However, no deal has been made yet and it is all just pure speculation by the crowd.
Chris Wheeler has confirmed that Manchester United’s sources have denied all speculation. Bayindir is still yet to decide whether he wants to spend next season playing at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper only got to make one appearance for United last season as he played backup to Andre Onana. Despite the Cameroonian’s struggles during the early stages, Ten Hag was not keen on giving minutes to Bayindir.
Altay still has three years left on his contract with the Red Devils. That means he could possibly be spending three more years on the sidelines while someone else stands in goal. A sad way to be for such a promising talent.
The Turkish goalkeeper is a quality player and has the potential to be a first option for many teams. His tall frame of 1.98m makes him excellent for guarding the goal. So, it is unlikely that he’ll be satisfied with playing second fiddle to Andre Onana.
If the right deal comes to Old Trafford, the 26-year-old might be enticed to take on a different challenge this summer. Who knows, maybe the speculation has some substance behind it, and Celtic end up making a move for Bayindir.
