Harry Maguire takes dig at Leeds United fans after Championship Playoff final loss
Harry Maguire ostensibly took a sly dig at Leeds United fans after the Whites failed to gain promotion to the Premier League by losing the Championship Playoff final to Southampton.
Leeds lost their chance to return to the Big Time within a year after their relegation after they lost 1-0 to Southampton at Wembley this past Sunday.
After the game, the former Man United captain posted a photo on Instagram of the Saints fans celebrating after the Playoff final win.
Maguire failed to return from his injury in time to make the FA Cup final, which United won 2-1.
He will now look to gain fitness and make the pitch for England in the pre-Euros friendlies to get himself ready for the Euros next month.
Leeds one of the best sides to not get promotion
Leeds are coming off one of those campaigns where, in any other season they would have easily earned themselves direct promotions, but this time they came across unmatchable forces in Ipswich and Leicester and a slew of poor late performances that saw them slip into the Playoffs despite a 90-point tally.

Ahead of next season, they’re looking at a lot of big-name outgoing and may find it harder to mount a promotion push compared to this season, though the sides returning to the Championship this year will find it harder to be as good as Leicester and Ipswich were this time round.
