Rio Ferdinand can only appreciate the performance of two Manchester United players who were key against Man City

Last night was huge for Manchester United fans and club legend, Rio Ferdinand also joined in on the celebrations. The Red Devils played a historic FA Cup final and overcame their local rivals Man City on their way to glory.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo helped Man United take a 2-0 lead during the first half. Jeremy Doku struck back late in the second half but the Blues didn’t have enough to completely erase the deficit.

So, 19-year-old Garnacho and 19-year-old Mainoo helped the team attain glory last night. Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand took to Instagram to thank the two youngsters for their efforts.

The two stars have been key for Manchester United the entire season. Mainoo has come up big and has been the team’s hero on more occasions than one. The young Argentine on the other hand has been one of the team’s most consistent performers this season.

If it wasn’t for the two teenagers this season would’ve ended in complete failure. Their emergence has to be the best thing about this season. Garnacho has made 50 appearances this season recording 10 goals and five assists.

Mainoo on the other hand has been an absolute star in the middle. He has solidified himself a spot on the team’s first XI, this season the 19-year-old made 35 appearances recording five goals and two assists.
