United’s last chance for glory against dominant City
Manchester United are set to face the mighty Manchester City in the FA Cup finals at the weekend, and Red Devils icon Gary Neville may not be around in the stadium when the game kicks off this Saturday.
Four consecutive Premier League champions will run on Wembley once again as they face their city neighbours this weekend. It will be a mammoth task for Erik ten Hag’s side; however, they will be looking to ensure they give City a run for their money.
Neville opts out of Wembley amidst City fan hostility
The FA Cup final this year will be a rematch of the fixture last season, as both Manchester-based clubs will rub shoulders for successive seasons in the all-important finale.
For United, this is their only opportunity to win silverware this season and salvage something out of what has been a difficult season at Old Trafford. It could also be the final time we see the Dutch gaffer in charge of United, with reports suggesting he faces a stern test to hold on to his managerial position at Carrington.
While the Manchester Reds face the all-important test at Wembley, former defender Gary Neville has revealed that he will be sitting on his couch and watching the game on television at the weekend. He insists that it was difficult for him last season to get inside and out of the prestigious Wembley Stadium with City fans getting on his nerves, which will push him to take a bye on the game this year.
You could see Roy Keane giving a perplexed look when Gary gave his reasons for missing out on the game.
