Casemiro hints that he wishes to stay at Manchester United
There has been a lot of talk surrounding the future of Manchester United star, Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder’s form has dipped well below his normal standards this season.
Moreover, Casemiro has lost a lot of pace over time and his game is now suffering because of it at the age of 32. One could also attribute his sudden decline in form to all the injuries he’s had recently.
Despite his poor form, Casemiro is still one of the highest-paid players at United. So, the team could move him this summer. However, the Brazilian has hinted that he wishes to say by citing the example of Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah. Let’s have a look (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“I guess people end up talking about the age factor, but it’s been proven. Recently, our friend Thiago Silva, at the age of 39 coming here and showing that, yes, you can play.”
“At Manchester City, there’s Kevin De Bruyne. Mohamed Salah at Liverpool. I think age is not an issue, it is not a factor in this”
Casemiro added that he enjoys the Premier League so he is happy to be playing for Manchester United at the moment. Saudi has emerged as a potential destination for the Brazilian if he leaves United this summer.
However, since he enjoys playing in the Premier League, one can conclude that he wouldn’t enjoy playing in Saudi at this stage of his career. But, his motivations could change depending on what kind of offer is on the table.
Despite Casemiro dropping hints about him wanting to stay, his future is still up in the air. United wish to make a lot of signings this summer and they’ll need money to do so. Moving the Brazilian to Saudi would result in a sizeable amount of funds for the team.
