Man United could go after French midfielder entering free agency this summer
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are interested in signing Adrien Rabiot this summer. The 29-year-old midfielder will be out of contract this summer and the Red Devils wish to bring him in for free.
Apart from Bruno Fernandes, there’s no one in the Man United lineup who operates efficiently in the middle areas of the pitch. The team needs someone who can retain possession and distribute the ball at a high rate.
Adrien Rabiot perfectly fits the Red Devils’ needs. This season the Frenchman has made 34 appearances for Juventus recording a total of five goals and three assists.
It may not always show up on the stat sheet, but Rabiot is a key member of Juventus’ middle line. It’ll be interesting to see whether the team will be able to renew him before the season ends. Although, it currently seems like the Frenchman is all but gone.
Man United won’t be the only club chasing after Rabiot this summer, so their opening offer needs to beat a ton of competition. Luckily, the departure of Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial is about to open up a ton of room on the team’s wage bill.
After five years in Italy, Rabiot might be getting ready to face a new challenge this summer. The 29-year-old could be a quality starter and a crucial backup as well, the Red Devils would do well to sign the Frenchman.
