Bruno Fernandes put out an Instagram post after Manchester United’s final home game of the 2023/24 campaign to thank the fans for their support throughout the season.

Under the lights at Old Trafford, Man United came out victorious 3-2 against Newcastle United in what was a rare positive performance.

The Red Devils now travel to Brighton for their final game of the Premier League season before facing Man City at Wembley in the FA Cup final.

The United captain has been in the news in recent weeks, with reports linking him to a move away from Old Trafford. Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and the Saudi Pro League are the leading destinations rumoured to be Fernandes’ next home.

Despite United having had a season to forget, the Portugal international’s individual performances have been exemplary, with him having delivered 15 goals and 12 assists in 46 club appearances across all competitions.

United, at the moment, have taken a stance of reluctance in terms of letting Fernandes go, though they could be tempted to loosen said stance if the right price were to be offered for the 29-year-old.

Fernandes’ current £240k-a-week contract at United is set to run until June 2026.

Brace yourselves, Red Devils

Like it or not, it is quite likely that we may have seen Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford in a Man United shirt for the last time.

Given his age, his current form, and United’s need to not only free up the wage bill and generate funds for future player acquisitions but also comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, Fernandes could be on his way to pastures anew.
