Manchester United are expected to go after Barcelona forward this summer

As reported by Spanish outlet AS (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona striker, Vitor Roque this summer. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the 19-year-old.

Roque has a lot of potential to grow, however, his beginning with Barcelona has not been what he expected it to be. The club signed him back in July last year and since then the 19-year-old has only made 13 appearances for the team.

Throughout those 13 appearances, Roque has only played 310 minutes of football but has scored two goals for the team. The Catalan club is known for leaning on their young talent, so it is a little strange that such a promising player has not been getting proper minutes under Xavi Hernandez.

Vitor Roque’s entourage says that the 19-year-old currently plans on toughing it out with Barcelona. However, if the situation doesn’t change the Brazilian forward has not ruled out a permanent move away from the Spanish side.

Despite the friction, the Catalan club will not be keen on departing from Roque on a permanent basis. They are currently trying to get him up to speed and his transition from Brazil to La Liga has not gone as smoothly as the club would’ve liked.

While Man United will most likely not get to sign the 19-year-old this summer, the same can’t be said for January 2025. If Barcelona don’t give Roque the minutes he needs, he could ask for a move away from the club.
