Manchester United serious about the signing of France international two years after his failed move to Serie A
As reported by Italian publication Calcio Mercato (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are ready to rekindle their waning interest in France international, Adrien Rabiot. The team came close to signing the now 29-year-old back in 2022.
However, it was not meant to be and talks with Rabiot broke down due to a difference of opinion over his wages. However, the French midfielder has only gotten older within the past two years and as a result, his value has come down.
This would also make a difference on his wage demands which is the most important as United are planning on signing Rabiot on a free transfer. He will be a free agent at the end of this summer.
Juventus are interested in bringing Rabiot back for a while more. However, the 29-year-old wants to consider his options before he pens down a deal to go back to the Serie A side. So, the Red Devils will have every opportunity to sign the Frenchman this summer.
Max Allegri greatly appreciates the talent that Rabiot has and has previously stated that the French star is ‘extraordinary’. United need someone like the 29-year-old to fix their creative deficiencies.
Apart from Bruno Fernandes, the team doesn’t create enough chances and an unpredictable skilful midfielder like Rabiot could remedy all of that. However, United will need to fork out a better offer than Juventus if they wish to sign the 29-year-old.
