Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur want Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford to bolster their attack in the summer
Bayern Munich Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to have a transfer battle for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. Rashford has suffered a forgettable season with Man United which coincided with the club’s struggle which ruined their season’s ambitions.
The Red Devils suffered an early exit from the Carabao Cup competition and failed in the Champions League group stages. However, they have reached the FA Cup final after an embarrassing display against Coventry City in the semi-finals.
Coventry made a comeback after United achieved a three-goal advantage until the 71st minute of the game. The Red Devils conceded three goals and then almost conceded one more in the extra-time which the referee deemed offside.
United are also sixth in the Premier League table, failing to achieve the minimum expectation of reaching the top four. They are now mathematically incapable of reaching fourth-placed Aston Villa, six points behind Spurs for the Europa League spot.
Rashford faced constant criticism for his poor work rate and selfishness in possession as his productivity in front of goal dropped. Many fans and pundits believed that the 26-year-old has finally fulfilled his potential after his prolific performances last season.
The England international earned a lucrative contract during the summer before the current season with high expectations of him. Considering Rashford’s status as a United academy product and his ninth season at the senior level, many view him as an experienced player.
The 26-year-old has made 40 appearances in all competitions for United, scoring eight goals and providing five assists this season. His poor goal and assist tally hurt more when he provides no help in pressing or doing any defensive duties.
During the summer, PSG, Spurs, and Bayern have shown interest in signing Rashford from United, as reported by The Telegram (h/t Fichajes). United are willing to listen to offers for the Englishman as they intend to make several changes during the summer.
