Manchester United loanee, Jadon Sancho made history despote the 4-1 humbling of Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund suffered a humbling 4-1 defeat at the Red Bull arena this past week, but that didn’t stop Manchester United loanee, Jadon Sancho from etching his name into the annals of Bundesliga history.
The 24-year-old winger scored an incredible goal against RB Leipzig to make it two goals and two assists in 12 Bundesliga appearances this season. However, that’s not all he achieved that night.
With this goal, Sancho became the highest-scoring English player in the Bundesliga. He now has 40 goals and 53 assists in 116 Bundesliga appearances. But, Sancho might hold onto his record for too long.
30-year-old Harry Kane has already scored 35 Bundesliga goals in just 31 appearances. If he continues to produce at this insane rate he will easily take over Sancho in the near future. However, the English winger will be happy to just reach this feat.
This has been an abysmal season for Jadon Sancho, he first spent four months on the sideline following his public falling out with Erik ten Hag. Later, he suffered an injury shortly after his return to Dortmund and had to spend some time away once more.
During a campaign where everything was going wrong for the English winger his record from last week will serve as a nice little reminder. Hopefully, this will be the inspiration Sancho needs to find his former self.
