Manchester United scouts were in attendance to watch 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have sent scouts to gain information on 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid, Gustavo Nunes. The 18-year-old Winger is expected to be the next big thing to come out of Brazil.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has previously stated that it is easier to buy a player like Kylian Mbappe than it is to nurture one of his calibre. So, the team seems to be going in a new direction as they look to bring young talent into the squad.
Nunes has been impressive this season, he has made 19 appearances spread across the Gremio junior and senior team while recording four goals and four assists. His performances have earned him a place in the first team this season.
Nunes displays a lot of pace while running down the left flank. His speed allows him to easily go past multiple defenders with a simple long touch and penetrate the opposition’s penalty box.
His frame is a little scrawny and the 18-year-old will have to put on some muscle if he wants to survive in the Premier League. Also, his finishing is not up to the mark yet, but he’s only 18 so that isn’t something that can’t be fixed.
The general opinion surrounding Nunes is that he has a very high ceiling and will make a name for himself in the top five leagues shortly. If things go according to plan, he’ll be doing so at Old Trafford.
