Man United eyeing Michael Olise as Antony replacement
According to ESPN, Manchester United are eyeing a move for Michael Olise to potentially replace Antony ahead of next season.
The former France U21 international was heavily linked with a move to Man City last summer before penning a new deal at Crystal Palace with a £60m release clause.
Another impressive season for a struggling Crystal Palace side has seen the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool emerge alongside Man United as the current leaders in the race for Olise’s signature.
Antony, on the other hand, is having another disappointing season at Old Trafford and may be allowed to let go in the summer, with an interest from Saudi Arabia considered likely to arrive.
Letting Antony go would be a wise call
Never before has a big-money move looked primed to fail as spectacularly as that of Antony from Ajax to Man United did back in 2022.
That United, regardless of the pressure from Erik ten Hag, decided to go as far as £100 million for the Brazilian’s signature again demonstrated how little they had learnt from their mistakes of the past, Paul Pogba and Harry Maguire to name a few.
Now, they can’t undo the past and moving forward is the only way, so letting Antony go would be a start. United should expect heavy competition from Chelsea, who aren’t shy of throwing around money right now, and Liverpool, who are likely to lose Mo Salah in the summer to Saudi Arabia and will have the money to pounce on Olise.

In the end, United may not get Olise, but they would definitely do well if they let go of Antony at the very least. There are options in Amad Diallo ready to slot in right away while they look around for a more prudent right-sided replacement.
