Former Liverpool star takes a sly dig at Manchester United
Brentford and Brighton concluded their latest meeting in a 0-0 draw but all anyone could talk about was the 31 shots that Manchester United allowed the Bees to fire at their goal last week.
The topic was touched by United target, Lewis Dunk and former Liverpool star, Adam Lallana. Let’s have a look at what the former Red had to say about his team’s performance. (h/t talkSPORT)
“We were disappointed with a point,”
“We saw how dominant Brentford were the other night with 30 shots on goal but we dominated this game, just lacked the killer instinct.”
Lallana takes sort of a sly dig at the Red Devils by saying that they were dominated by Brentford. However, it is really a dig when all the 35-year-old star did was tell the truth? The Bees did infact dominate Erik ten Hag’s side.
Manchester United had no right taking a point away from that game and should thank Mason Mount for his stoppage time goal. When such a big team puts up a stinker of a performance like the Red Devils did last week, they’ll obviously be subjected to some ridicule.
However, the real test comes tonight as Erik ten Hag and his men gear up to take on Chelsea. Dropping points tonight could very well end the teams hopes of grabbing a top four spot and playing in the UCL next season.
