Man United star has shut down talk of him moving to Saudi Arabia
Manchester United star, Victor Lindelof has not been having the season many expected him to. Injuries have played a big part in his struggles and many believe that the player is not going to be a long-term guest at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old has recently been linked with Saudi Arabia. However, Lindelof has shut down all talk of a move to the Middle East. Here’s what he had to say about the situation. (h/t Fotbollskanalen)
“I haven’t actually thought about it (moving to Saudi Arabia). Maybe I don’t really feel like I’m there in my career, that I want to get down to moving away.”
Can Victor Lindelof do enough to solidify a spot in the Manchester United squad?
Man United are currently dealing with a lot of injuries, so Lindelof will likely be getting a lot of playing time until the end of the season. The Swede needs to make the most of this opportunity if he wishes to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
However, the team is going towards a young direction. We’ve seen a lot of young players be given an opportunity, so things might not work out in the favor of Lindelof who is slowly approaching 30.
Atalanta BC’s star defender, Giorgio Scalvini has also been linked to United in recent days. The team is getting ready for a summer overhaul and the arrival of new defenders could spell the departure of old ones.
Lindelof might not be looking forward to playing in Saudi Arabia. However, the player did mention that he wants to be in Europe for the time being.
