Manchester United join several top clubs in pursuit of Real Madrid star
According to a report by Spanish publication Fichajes, Manchester United are now one of many top clubs who are eyeing 23-year-old Real Madrid star, Rodrygo. The Brazilian has recorded 13 goals and eight assists this season.
Rodrygo is one of the most exciting young talents in Spain right now. However, Arsenal will likely not make it easy for United as the Gunners believe the Real Madrid star could help make up for the poor performance of Gabriel Jesus.
The Red Devils on the other hand will have a bit of trouble trying to fit Rodrygo into their roster. Sir Jim Ratcliffe likes Alejandro Garnacho who is currently deployed on the right wing. The Brazilian also prefers the right wing.
However, Real Madrid have played Rodrygo as a CF for most of the season. Even that doesn’t fix United’s problems since Rasmus Hojlund is currently their starting striker and the Dane has well to earn that role.
Lastly, they could try and move Rodrygo to the left wing but Marcus Rashford has forever been United’s man on the left. So, The Brazilian might be reluctant to move since he will likely need to come off the bench.
Moreover, Rodrygo gets to play regular Champions League football with Real Madrid. This is something that Manchester United can’t guarantee to the 23-year-old and could become a deal breaker.
