Manchester United are at advantage as Bayern Munich have “cooled their interest” in Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo
Araujo, a centre-back, has been linked with a transfer to Manchester United in recent weeks. Despite his importance at Barcelona, the La Liga club may have to cash in on big-name talents this summer to help balance the finances.
The Araujo procedure was critical for Bayern because of their defensive issues this season. In January, they already carried out a bit of the operation with Thomas Tuchel as a great supporter, but Barça refused to negotiate.
Bayern’s plan was to wait until the negotiations with Barcelona failed to gain the player’s cooperation. Barça has significant financial issues, and an offer of around 100 million euros could entice the Blaugrana club to balance the budget and boost its economy.
Now everything has cooled down because the defence is doing better and Bayern will need to invest a lot of money in other important priorities like a left-back in the face of the possible departure of Alphonso Davies.
Manchester United interested in the star defender
Manchester United are keeping tabs on the contract situation of Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
The Red Devils have good defenders, as Raphael Varane is their central defender, but the club’s defensive performance is not more than sub-par. United is one of the clubs that have communicated with Araujo’s representative.
At 25, the star defender has plenty of room for improvement and it would not come as a surprise if The Red Devils actually made a serious attempt to sign the star defender now that Bayern is out of the picture.

The Uruguayan has been impressive with his quality distribution. He has completed nearly 90 percent of his passes during the campaign. These stats have made several huge clubs ‘crazy’ for him. Although the 25-year-old is keen to stay in Camp Nou, if an appealing offer comes, the star is most likely to leave.
