Manchester United are eyeing a prolific producer to bolster their attack
Manchester United need some serious firepower in attack if they wish to avoid a repeat of their current season. The Red Devils don’t have a lot of options upfront and the ones they have often misfire during big games.
As reported by Spanish publication Fichajes, Viktor Gyokeres has come up as a possible signing for Man United. The 25-year-old has 50 goal contributions this season recording 36 goals and 14 assists in just 39 appearances.
Gyokeres is currently setting Liga Portugal on fire with Sporting CP, also from the Portuguese side is United’s skipper, Bruno Fernandes. The skipper could play a role in the signing of Gyokeres this summer.
However, signing Gyokeres would mean that one of United’s front three would have to be benched. The person to go will likely be Rasmus Hojlund who primarily plays as a striker for the Old Trafford team.
But, benching the 21-year-old could be detrimental to his growth. Hojlund is expected to be a big part of United’s future so signing Gyokeres could mean that the team will have to make a gem suffer.
However, no harm will be done if the 25-year-old Swede can come in and immediately start producing for United. Additionally, Erik ten Hag might not be around next season so we could see the Red Devils line up with two strikers up front.

Summer is still a long time away and a lot could change during that period. If things go ideally, United will be able to get the best out of both Viktor Gyokeres and Rasmus Hojlund next season.
