Manchester United star, Amad Diallo sheds light on why he was ‘disappointed’ after leading his team to victory against Liverpool
Amad Diallo was the point of difference for Manchester United last night. The 21-year-old scored a last-minute winner to help the Red Devils defeat Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Despite getting the result he wanted Diallo was ‘disappointed’ with one aspect of last night’s game. Here’s what the Ivorian had to say about it while talking to BBC after the match.
“I am disappointed to be sent off but what is important is to win. To beat Liverpool is a big, big moment for me.”
Diallo added that he almost sent the ball back to Alejandro Garnacho. However, choosing to shoot was the best decision as the Argentine was being hounded by Alexis Mac Allister.
The Ivorian was a little careless and should’ve kept his shirt on. However, we have to remember that Diallo idolises Lionel Messi. So, getting sent off for replicating something that his idol does will probably not affect him a lot.
However, the 21-year-old will be missing from United’s next game. The Red Devils will be taking on Coventry City in the FA Cup Semi-Finals and after his performance against Liverpool Diallo could’ve featured in the next game as well.
But, he has plenty of time to come back. Now that the entire city is backing Diallo it is only a matter of time before he starts making more first team appearances.
