Lisandro Martinez sends a message to the fans as Manchester United beat Liverpool to advance in the FA Cup
Manchester United star, Lisandro Martinez probably wanted nothing more than to be on the pitch as his team beat Liverpool to advance to the FA Cup Semi-Finals. The Argentina defender has been sidelined since February after he picked up his second injury this season.
However, Martinez has been quick to reassure the fans and told them that he will soon be back to his best. The 26-year-old was celebrating from the sidelines as the Red Devils and Jurgen Klopp‘s men delivered a seven-goal thriller.
Martinez quickly took to Instagram to congratulate his team and even sent a message to the fans. He indicated that the team along with the backing of the fans is now headed to the FA Cup Semis.
The Old Trafford crowd was a big part of United’s win last night. Their constant support and cheers kept the team going even after the game went into extra time. Despite being the weaker side, the fans were constantly trying to rally their players.
This will be even more important now that the Red Devils head deeper into the competition. Lisandro Martinez clearly knows how important the fans will be in the games ahead and wants them to have the team’s back.
We have often seen the Manchester United players crumble under pressure. However, if the fans are behind them, there isn’t a lot that the opposition can do to shake the team’s confidence.
