Erik ten Hag has told his Manchester United squad about the stakes against Liverpool

Manchester United have a lot riding on their game against Liverpool tonight. The Red Devils are fighting to save their season, while Jurgen Klopp and his men will be playing to add to their trophy collection.

The Reds will prove to be a tough challenge for the Old Trafford squad. They looked like the better team during their 0-0 tie in December. There were a lot of chances for Liverpool to pull ahead in that game and fans expect even more tonight.

Even Erik ten Hag knows what his team is fighting for tonight and addressed them as such while prepping for the game. Let’s have a look at what the Dutchman had to say to his Manchester United squad. (h/t Independent)

“I think we have to save the season.”

“We know we have to catch up in the Premier League but now we have an opportunity to win silverware. The only opportunity is the FA Cup,”

Ten Hag added that all three of the remaining games will be huge and he expects his team to be at their best. The Dutchman added that the Liverpool game will be a test for Manchester United. He was quick to remind people that the Red Devils like challenges.

While they may like challenges, the team often comes up short when faced with one. However, Ten Hag’s squad tonight will be boosted by returning injured players.

Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all expected to be a part of the lineup. So, Ten Hag will surely have more pieces on the board to take on Klopp.
