Manchester United officials have met Getafe to discuss the future of Mason Greenwood
Manchester United loanee, Mason Greenwood has been stellar during his loan spell at Getafe. In 26 appearances across all competitions, he has recorded eight goals and five assists for the Spanish side.
As his time in Spain is nearing an end there has been a lot of talk surrounding the 22-year-old’s future. As reported by Spanish publication Marca (h/t Manchester Evening News), United’s director, John Murtough and Matt Hargreaves have travelled to meet with the folks at Getafe.
The pair were also spotted in Barcelona and have described it as ‘routine business’. It is worth noting that a lot of talk has linked Greenwood to Barcelona during the past few months.

Internal talks were also held at Manchester United to discuss the future of the 22-year-old. If they’re meeting the officials of these teams, one could speculate that a decision has already been made.
A lot of people believe that Greenwood would be an excellent player for the Red Devils. However, bringing him back would also bring controversy which Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS might not want.
So, selling him seems to be the ideal route for the new part-owners. But, it is worth noting that the 22-year-old has all the qualities that Manchester United are looking for in their summer target Michael Olise.
