Sir Jim Ratcliffe has brought a lot of positive vibes back to Manchester United. He has taken over the club’s sporting control following the purchase of his 25% stake in Manchester United.
The pharmaceutical billionaire has been saying a lot of right things and now it is time for Erik ten Hag and the players to back his words on the pitch.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is been making sure that the management side of the club improves. Highly rated Dan Ashworth is expected to make his way to Manchester United from Newcastle United following his gardening leave. Manchester United are also linked with a move for former Manchester City academy boss Jason Wilcox.
The Greenwood Dilemma
While he does all the work behind the scenes, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is risking losing his feel-good factor among the fans with a major Mason Greenwood decision.
The Englishman has been spending some time away from the limelight at Getafe. He is shining in Spain with a tally of five goals and five assists in 22 La Liga appearances. While his impact on the field cannot be discounted, Greenwood is far from a shining light of virtue off it.
According to a report by Mirror, Sir Jim Ratcliffe feels it will be madness for Manchester United to sell Mason Greenwood and lose a player who was once valued at over £50 million.
Ratcliffe has come out and pledged to investigate any possibility of bringing Mason Greenwood back into Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United squad.
The Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges for attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour against him last year and Ratcliffe has come out and promised “a fresh decision” about his future at the club. This is what Sir Jim Ratcliffe had to follow as relayed by Mirror:
“What we need to do when we have issues like that is understand the real effects and not the hype. Then we need to make a fair decision in light of the club’s values.”
