Manchester United believe Alejandro Garnacho can follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo is the base for comparison at Manchester United and rightfully so given that there are few players in history who can hold a candle to the Portuguese legend.
He is possibly the best player this club has ever seen in Manchester United’s 146 years of history. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 145 goals for Manchester United in 346 appearances with a tally of 64 assists.
About two decades after the Iberian made his way to Manchester United, the coaches at Old Trafford believe they have the next Ronaldo in their ranks. Coincidentally, he hails from the lands of Argentina where Rolando’s career rival Lionel Messi comes from.
The Argentine starlet compared to Cristiano Ronaldo
The coaches at Manchester United believe that Garnacho has the capacity to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo. The 19-year-old has been impressing on the wings this season at Old Trafford and the coaches feel that he has the capacity to take his career to great heights.
Garnacho looks up to Ronaldo and has had an opportunity to play alongside his hero on several occasions. Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, host Rickie Haywood-Williams said: ‘People are saying that they reckon Garnacho is going to be…’.
Tom Cairney then responded by saying:
‘What, like the next Cristiano?’
Haywood-Williams then said:
‘That’s what they have been saying, that’s what I’ve been hearing. We can’t predict these things but from the murmurings I’m hearing coming out of Old Trafford, they are saying that he has the potential to go to that level.’
Manchester United signed Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid four years back in 2020. He was involved with the first team last season. This season the Argentina international has played 24 games and has scored five goals and provided three assists in the Premier League for Manchester United.

There is still a long way to think about Garnacho making a career like Ronaldo. There will be lots of hard work and grinding involved if he were to replicate CR7’s career.
