Manchester United are interested in Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries
Right back is one of those positions that Manchester United have been in the market for since a long time now. No moves have materialized and it seems like it would be taken care of in the next window every time.
There have been rumours again about Manchester United, yet again, targeting Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries. According to a report by Manchester Evening, the Red Devils are in the ‘front row’ to land Dutch international Denzel Dumfries.
United back in fold for a long-term target
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old full-back in the past two transfer windows at least. Whether the third time is a charm remains to be seen.
There was a reported swap deal in the works in January which never reached completion. Both the clubs tried swapping Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Inter Milan for Denzel Dumfries’ services at United.
However according to TuttoSport, Manchester United still remain in line to land the 27-year-old in the upcoming summer transfer window. There are claims that he is the only player in the first team at Inter that they have on the outgoing list as of now.
There is a reason that Inter Milan are looking to sell its services in the summer. The Dutch wing-back is seeking €5m per year in wages to extend his stay at the Giuseppe Meazza and Inter Milan think these demands are excessive. This is forcing them to offload him in the upcoming summer transfer window before he becomes a free agent in 2025 and they risk losing him for free transfer.

If Manchester United were to sign Denzel Dumfries, they would add an attacking player in that right-back position. Dumfries can contribute very much offensively but where will that leave Diogo Dalot?
