Manchester United are said to be weighing up an approach for the former Chelsea academy defender Marc Guehi in the summer transfer market and according to a report by The Telegraph, Liverpool are set to compete with the Red Devils for the signature of the 23-year-old.

Marc Guehi’s current contract with the South London based club runs till 2026 and the possibility of any renewal as of now is considered low which may force Crystal Palace to cash-in on their star centre-back in the summer.

Liverpool are looking to snap him from Crystal Palace, although Manchester United are going to make it hard for them with proper competition for his signatures.

The report also says that if Manchester United are able to land Dan Ashworth as sporting director then there is a possibility that United could intensify efforts with success. Dan Ashworth has also tried signing Guehi when he was at Newcastle United and that could help pursue Guehi in the summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, is also going to leave the Anfied this summer. Therefore Liverpool’s pursuit of the 23-year-old will be based upon who they will bring at the manager’s position.

With The Reds from Manchester and Merseyside, Chelsea are also said to be in the competition.
