Erik ten Hag’s major 2023 signing hasn’t been a ‘success’ at Manchester United says Louis Saha

Former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha says that Erik ten Hag’s major 2023 signing, Mason Mount, hasn’t been a ‘success’. Many believed that the 25-year-old would put an end to the team’s creative woes.

However, an injury-riddled stint means that the English midfielder hasn’t had time to adjust at Old Trafford. He has made 12 appearances so far, recording just one assist, and has been missing from the squad since late August.

If he had been able to adjust, the story would’ve been very different. However, Mount’s run so far has been disappointing, things become worse when you take into account that management had to pay £60m for the player.

“At this moment, Mason Mount hasn’t been a success at Manchester United,”

Saha added that if Manchester United hope to bring in more talent during the summer, then they need to qualify for the Champions League. The team being in Europe will go a long way towards attracting talent to Old Trafford.

As for the case of Mason Mount, there is no doubt that the player has been disappointing for Man United. However, he has only played 12 games. He was one of the best midfielders during his time at Chelsea, and the Red Devils will have to wait until he finds that form again.

In 195 appearances for Chelsea, Mount recorded 33 goals and 37 assists for the team. Numbers that Manchester United expect the 25-year-old to replicate at Old Trafford.
