Rasmus Hojlund may be doing a lot of heavy lifting for Manchester United, but it was Harry Maguire whose stellar performance against Aston Villa helped the Red Devils pick up three points away from home.

It was a Maguire header that led to a goal for the Danish striker. Hojlund posted about it on Instagram and was quickly reminded by the Old Trafford veteran that it was he who deserved the credit.

The English defender left a hilarious comment under Hojlund’s post. He simply wrote “You’re welcome” and it was enough to remind the masses that it was Maguire’s genius that helped Man United pull ahead.

Manchester United came very close to selling Maguire during the summer. However, they will be relieved that they did not go through with the deal. The English defender might be approaching the wrong side of thirty but he seems to be getting better with age.

Erik ten Hag has leaned on him time and time again this season as the Dutchman has had to deal with a depleted squad. However, Maguire has always stood up to the challenge and continues to prove his worth to the team.

Now that Lisandro Martinez is injured again, Maguire will be given a bigger role during the second half of the season.

Fans will be counting on him to give even better performances as the Red Devils prepare for the final stretch.
