Manchester United are eyeing a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez
Manchester United are eyeing a move for talented Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in the coming summer, according to Spanish publication Fichajes.
The report claims that the Argentine World Cup winner has become one of the Red Devil’s biggest goals next summer. The change in ownership structure could have something to do with the fact that Man United want to make a statement signing like Martinez.
It seems though that Martinez is a personal request by Erik ten Hag more than anything else. What we don’t understand though is why the Dutch tactician wants a striker like the Inter Milan man just a season after signing Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dane joined Man United last summer in a big-money move and initially struggled to adapt to life in England. After a few months of teething issues, he has started contributing regularly and things are looking good.
So, why exactly would Erik ten Hag want to sign another player for the same position? Well, most of the Dutchman’s tactics have been bewildering, to say the least throughout this season and this is just more of the same.
Identify the problems, focus on the issue
Manchester United make mistakes. They make mistakes to cover up those initial mistakes. They make more mistakes to cover up the previous mistakes. The club really need to take a look at what they are doing.
We already have a Martinez in our ranks. He is Argentine as well. We are not sure we need the Inter Milan Martinez right now. Unless Rasmus Hojlund was leaving this summer. we must look to spend the money elsewhere.
Erik ten Hag should look to sign a centre-back or a central midfielder before looking at a striker. They should even be looking at a right winger before a striker. They have too many holes to plug and the striker position is not one right now.

Let’s wait and see what the club does though because, frankly, no one seems to know. This summer is very crucial from a United perspective. Let’s hope for a change so that we make the right decisions in the transfer market.
