Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood was under fire from Getafe boss despite scoring
Manchester United loanee, Mason Greenwood was recently criticised by his coach at Getafe. What’s weird about the situation is that the 22-year-old scored during the match that he got criticised for.
Greenwood has been amazing during his time in La Liga, time away from English football certainly agrees with the young winger. However, it seems like the Getafe boss is still not happy with the Manchester United outcast.
This could be because the coach has very high expectations of Greenwood. Even though the player has shown signs of brilliance there is still a ton of room for him to grow and Jose Bordalas seems to be aware of this.
Here’s what the Getafe man had to say about Manchester United’s Greenwood. (h\t Metro)
‘Greenwood had a great first half, although not so much in the second half.’
‘But everyone has worked for the team. They were aware of the importance of the game and finally we achieved it.’
It seems like Bordalas wasn’t happy about Greenwood’s complacency during the second half of the game. The coach knows that the 22-year-old is a special talent and only wants him to live up to his potential.
If Greenwood hadn’t gotten complacent and was focused on the game instead, he might have ended up adding even more to his tally. Regardless, of that the winger has done a masterful job this season.
Greenwood has scored six goals while also recording four assists for Getafe. His impressive form has enabled him to garner interest from several clubs.

The original plan was for Greenwood to move back to Manchester United during the summer, where his future would then be re-evaluated. However, with the recent interest from prominent clubs, the Red Devils might try and sell him for a profit.
