Manchester United are considering making a move for former Barcelona star
It seems like Manchester United still aren’t done with the transfer window as the team is now ‘mulling’ over a move for former Barcelona striker, Martin Braithwaite, as reported by The Sun (h/t ESPN). The 32-year-old is currently playing for Espanyol in LaLiga2.
The Red Devils have been looking to bolster their offence for a long time. Now, with the sudden news of a move for Braithwaite, the team must act quickly if they’re serious about improving their attack.
Chelsea are also said to be interested in the player so time truly is of the essence right now. The Danish striker’s best years might be behind him, but he can still play a big role on the squad.
In 24 appearances this season the Ex-Barcelona star has recorded 12 goals and one assist for his LaLiga2 team. This translates to a goal in every other game, exactly the kind of contribution that Manchester United are in desperate need of.
Moreover, Braithwaite is Danish so he will likely get along and impart a ton of knowledge to young Rasmus Hojlund. His experience with FC Barcelona surely means that the 32-year-old has a lot to teach.
This is the perfect opportunity for the Red Devils and they need to move fast and close a deal. If not, Erik ten Hag will have to play out the rest of the season with Rasmus Hojlund being his only option for striker.
