Does Marcus Rashford lack respect for Manchester United? Erik ten Hag gives his thoughts
Erik ten Hag has given his thoughts on whether Marcus Rashford lacks respect for Manchester United or not. Many fans believe that his actions and behavior towards the club can be taken as a lack of respect for the badge.
The 26-year-old is known to party a lot, while there’s nothing wrong with partying, he always seems to do it at all the wrong times. Earlier during the season Rashford was spotted in a nightclub after Manchester United lost 3-0 against bitter rivals Man City.
The Manchester-born superstar caught a lot of flak for his behaviour back then. More recently, he was spotted partying in Belfast, after two nights of tequila binging, Rashford called in sick and missed training. This led to him being dropped from the game against Newport and the club has stated that the matter has been solved internally.
While all of this does sound disrespectful, let’s have a look at what his coach Erik ten Hag has to say about the situation. (h\t Manchester United News)
“It’s nothing to do with that but as I said, let’s focus on the game, let’s move on. The statement is clear and we have to focus on winning football games.”
Ten Hag was cagey about the matter and went on to state that Rashford has taken full responsibility for his recent actions. Moreover, the Dutchman said that the rest is an internal matter.
While from the outside it looks like things are all dandy at Old Trafford, it is very possible that the team could try and move Rashford during the summer. His recent drop in form will make it even easier to justify such a move.

Rashford has only scored four goals for the team this season. He is counted on to be the leading superstar on this squad, if he can’t make a better contribution, the management might not hesitate to cut him off.
