Romano has confirmed that Manchester United will be unable to get their hands on Jonathan David
Manchester United have long been in the market for a striker, and the team was briefly linked to Lille star Jonathan David. However, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano a deal may not be feasible.
The 24-year-old has shown a lot of promise during his time in Ligue 1. In 27 appearances for the French side, David has scored 11 goals while also recording six assists. This has played no small part in the interest that he has garnered.
The Canadian national has the pace to beat most defenders, makes all the right runs and creates a ton of goal-scoring opportunities for his team. No wonder, Manchester United wanted to get their hands on him.
However, much to their disappointment, Romano has already confirmed that the Lille star will not be leaving. But, it seems like this might not be the case during the summer.
If the Red Devils are still interested in signing the player, they can revisit him when the summer transfer window reopens. But, then again this also means that all the other teams that are interested in the 24-year-old will also be in the running.
The Old Trafford management will have to make haste if they wish to sign the player. However, even if they do a lot will depend on whether David wants to be a Red Devil or not.
