Manchester United have released a statement regarding Marcus Rashford
Manchester United have had a tough time keeping their star player Marcus Rashford in line. The 26-year-old is known to have a few discipline issues. The latest one reared its head when Rashford missed training after a night of partying.
He called in ‘sick’, however, there were enough people who had documented him at a club the night before. Erik ten Hag has taken action and a statement has been released.
The first action came when the Dutchman omitted Rashford from the FA Cup squad. The English forward was not present for his team’s fourth-round clash against Newport County.
Manchester United clearly do not want any controversy surrounding the club, as their statement simply reads that Marcus has taken responsibility and the situation has been dealt with as an internal matter.
It was earlier reported by The Sun that the 26-year-old could be fined two weeks’ worth of wages. However, we now have no way of figuring out just what punishment Ten Hag has given to his man up front.
Hopefully, the English forward will now have learnt his lesson. The team is in desperate need of his contributions and if he can’t figure out his struggles off the pitch, he might not even have the privilege of having problems on the pitch next season.
