Manchester United could acquire a former Barcelona striker before the transfer window ends.
As reported by HITC (h\t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign former Barcelona striker, Martin Braithwaite. The 32-year-old is currently playing for Espanyol in LaLiga2.
The Red Devils have been in desperate need of reinforcements for their attacking line. However, Erik ten Hag has been unable to make a move this January as his hands are tied due to FFP regulations.
Following the groin injury that was recently picked up by Anthony Martial, the prospect of signing Martin Braithwaite could be a blessing in disguise for the Old Trafford squad.
The Danish striker has been in impressive form this season. In 23 appearances for Espanyol, the 32-year-old has recorded 11 goals and one assist. These numbers would be greatly appreciated at Old Trafford.
Moreover, Manchester United’s very own Danish striker, Rasmus Hojlund could learn a thing or two from his fellow countryman. The team has been linked to many experienced strikers but a deal is yet to formalise.
Now that the transfer window is about to shut, the situation has become desperate. The Red Devils need to sign another striker to turn their season around. Leaving it all up to young Hojlund will not get Manchester United the results that they want.
