Manchester United are miles ahead in the race to sign Crystal Palace winger

According to Football.london (h\t The Sun), Manchester United are in the lead to sign Crystal Palace winger, Michael Olise. Bitter Premier League rivals Chelsea are also interested in the 22-year-old.

However, according to the reports from football.london, Olise would prefer to play for the Red Devils. It seems like contrary to popular belief, the club is still one of the best in the world, at least from the outside.

The Frenchman’s form with Crystal Palace this season has impressed almost every club across the league. In nine appearances Olise has scored five goals while also recording an assist.

The problem with signing such an extraordinary young talent is that Manchester United already have a young player who has been impressive on the right wing. Alejandro Garnacho’s recent burst of form is the reason that the Red Devils are still surviving.

Replacing him with Olise would be disrespectful and would also hinder the 19-year-old’s growth. They could also bring him in as a striker, but Rasmus Hojlund is already occupying that spot.

As for the Left Wing, the team usually deploys Marcus Rashford to take up that role. If the Frenchman is signed he would have to play second fiddle to all the well-established talent on the team.

Even if Manchester United moves for Olise, it is very likely that the arrangement will end up being a loss for both parties.
