Manchester United haven’t contributed to the dreams of George Ilenikhena confirms Fabrizio Romano
Manchester United aren’t interested in helping George Ilenikhena with his ‘dream’ just yet, confirms Fabrizio Romano (h\t Caught Offside). The 17-year-old has been in fine form this season displaying tremendous potential for growth.
Apparently, the French star dreams of playing for a club like Manchester United. His skills on the pitch are nothing to be scoffed at and he would be a good fit. However, it is still too early for the player to be making such a move.
This season George has made 28 appearances for Royal Antwerp while recording 10 goals for the team. He also played a key part in the Belgium side’s run at the Belgian Super Cup.
Let’s have a look at what Fabrizio Romano had to say during his interview with Caughtoffside.
“Of course it’s normal for young players to dream of big clubs, but at the moment nothing is concrete, he’s super young, it’s absolutely not a transfer story now but just a normal dream for the boy.”
Understandably Romano has pegged the 17-year-old’s comments as a young player who dreams to play for a big club. A lot of young players around the globe fit that bill, and just because they want it, doesn’t mean that they can handle it.
Time and time again we have seen promising young players ruin their careers by signing for a big-time club like the Red Devils. With this in mind, it would be wise for Ilenikhena to take a step back from his dreams of playing at Manchester United.
The best thing for Ilenikhena to do right now is to stay put at Royal Antwerp. If he can prove his ability to the whole world a big-time club will eventually come calling.
