Manchester United legend has urged Ten Hag to sign Real Madrid Icon, Karim Benzema
Manchester United have been heavily linked to former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. Many believe that signing the 36-year-old would be a good move for the club. However, some people disagree with that notion.
At this stage in his career, the Frenchman has already achieved everything that there is to achieve on a football pitch. Manchester United need players who are hungry for wins and Benzema simply doesn’t have that hunger within him anymore.
However, Manchester United legend Andy Cole seems to believe that the Frenchman would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford. He says that the player is only in Saudi for the generational wealth.
Here’s what Andy Cole had to say about the situation. (h\t Mirror)
“Could he do it in the Premier League at his age? 100 per cent considering the way he looks after himself.”
“If Manchester United have the opportunity to sign him, then they should definitely try and make that happen.”
“I would sign him if it was only for a training session.”
It seems like Andy Cole believes in the talents of Karim Benzema. He says that despite his age the Frenchman can still hang with the best in the Premier League. Well, if you look at his stats then Cole might not be wrong after all.
In 20 appearances this season, Benzema has recorded 12 goals and five assists for the Saudi team. These are very good numbers for a 36-year-old striker.
That’s not all even before Benzema switched to the Saudi Pro League, his last season in Spain was highly impressive. In 43 appearances he recorded 31 goals and six assists for Los Blancos.
