Manchester United have been asked to learn from Cristiano Ronaldo mistake as pundit advises them to avoid pursuing Karim Benzema
Manchester United have recently been linked to Karim Benzema, who has reportedly been unhappy during his time in Saudi Arabia. While many believe that singing the former Real Madrid striker would be a good move, Paul Parker says otherwise.
He holds the view that Benzema has already achieved everything that he wanted to achieve with the Los Blancos. If the Red Devils end up signing him, they’d be signing a player who isn’t hungry for success anymore.
Their current striker Rasmus Hojlund is young and wants to achieve glory with the club. He may be inconsistent but everyone at the club appreciates his work ethic and discipline.
Here’s what Paul Parker had to say while talking to Danish publication, Spil X Perten.
“It would just be making the same mistake as you have done in the past when you signed Ibrahimovic, Cavani and Ronaldo. That would be another step backwards.”
In hindsight, signing these players was a mistake on the club’s part. Parked has urged the club to learn from their Cristiano Ronaldo mistake and go for another player instead of Karim Benzema.
Hojlund is still young, but he is slowly beginning to find his footing at Old Trafford. Understandably, the club wants to pair him with an experienced striker but the Frenchman is not it.
The club should instead be going for a striker who wants to contribute and doesn’t wanna don the Manchester United Red for PR reasons alone.

Benzema would be a welcome addition and he might even score a ton of goals at the club. However, his presence could harm the mental aspect of Hojlund’s game.
