Manchester United maintained their 316-game home record thanks to a draw against Tottenham
Manchester United took on Tottenham Hotspur in what was an exciting Premier League matchup last night. Both teams looked solid and fought hard but neither gave ground as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Luckily for the Red Devils, this draw has helped them to hold onto their record at Old Trafford. For the past 316 games that the team has played at Old Trafford. They have not lost a single one where they lead at half-time.
Thanks to the contributions of Rasmus Hojlund who put the team up by one in the first three minutes and Marcus Rashford who struck late in the first half to end with a 2-1 lead for Manchester United.
Fans were happy to see Marcus Rashford finally score a goal at Old Trafford. But the joy wasn’t long-lived for Manchester United as Tottenham Hotspur were quick to equalise. It was a good day for the Red Devils because the game could’ve gone in either direction.
Erik ten Hag will probably have nightmares about Scott McTominay missing a golden opportunity to take the lead, but what’s done is done. The one point that Manchester United took away from Tottenham has got them to seventh on the table.
The Dutchman needs to lead his team to eight more points to crack the top 4. His players will have plenty of time to rest and recuperate as the team’s next Premier League game is two weeks away.
