Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could soon be reunited with Anthony Elanga
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked by Manchester United back in 2021. Since then the former manager has mostly kept to himself. However, according to Swedish publication fotbollskanalen (h/t Manchester Evening News) a new job could be on the horizon for Gunnar.
There has been a lot of talk linking the former Red Devil to the Swedish FA. If he accepts, the manager will be reunited with Anthony Elanga who was playing for Manchester United during the Gunnar era at Old Trafford.
Both Elanga and the Norwegian manager had a rough time with the Red Devils. It was Gunnar himself who had planned on sending Elanga out on loan before he was axed from the organization.
Elanga’s stint with Manchester United left a lot to be desired. The 21-year-old just never seemed to look comfortable donning the Old Trafford red and his performances with the team were mostly subpar.
Over 55 appearances for the first team the Swedish Winger only managed to score four goals and record four assists. These numbers are abysmal for a winger playing at a world-class club.
However, he has since come into being and has been impressive for Nottingham Forest so far this season. Over 21 games for Forest, Elanga has recorded four goals and six assists for the team.
Fans are hoping that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can make a comeback like Anthony Elanga did.
