20-year-old is set to leave Manchester United to embark on Ligue 1 loan

As reported by The Sun, Manchester United have agreed to send 20-year-old Joe Hugill over to Burton Albian as a loan deal between the two teams is now in place.

The Red Devils have no intentions of sending the player away on a permanent transfer as they have locked him down to a new deal. Hugill’s new deal with the team will allow him to stay at the club till 2026.

It seems like Erik ten Hag wishes for the player to get some more experience under his belt before he gets to play for the Old Trafford squad. This is a wise move for the Dutchman since he already has one inexperienced forward, Rasmus Hojlund playing upfront.

People at Old Trafford have been very impressed with Hugill’s form with the U-21 team. He has scored 31 goals while grabbing three assists throughout 57 games.

His time away from the Red Devils will be pivotal for the player. He must focus on his game and develop if he wants a real shot at playing in Erik ten Hag’s system.

We all know that the Dutchman has no qualms about regularly benching players who don’t impress him. So all that Hugill has to do for a shot is impress Ten Hag during his time away and will be good.
