Harry Redknapp sheds light on Manchester United’s ‘crazy’ signing from the summer of 2023

It seems like Harry Redknapp has not been too impressed with Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund. The team paid £64m for the player back in August and they are yet to get their money’s worth.

Hojlund has managed to score six goals through 24 appearances for the team this season. This includes just one goal in the Premier League, which has been a real struggle for the Dane.

We have to keep in mind that the Dane is just 20 years old. He cannot be expected to come to a big club like Manchester United and become the best striker in the world. What Hojlund needs most is time to develop.

Harry Redknapp was seemingly not too happy with his price tag and had some words for the player while talking to talkSPORT. Let’s have a look at what he had to say.

“You look last night at United, the lad they’ve bought [Hojlund]. What was he, 80 or 90 million pounds? I don’t know how much. Crazy money and he’s still miles away from being the finished article.”

Well, he’s not wrong about the situation. Rasmus Hojlund is indeed far from being the finished article. Manchester United will need to put in a lot of work on the Dane if they want him to reach his full potential.

The first step to take would be acquiring an experienced striker to play alongside the 20-year-old. This will go on to take a lot of pressure off the young star’s shoulders and allow him to find his own groove on the pitch.
