Manchester United have just been given a late Christmas present delivered by the hands of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund. The Red Devils have finally won their first game since early December.

The Old Trafford squad found themselves down by two goals after the thirty-minute mark. Erik Ten Hag’s words at halftime must’ve done wonders for the team cause they came out and grabbed three goals of their own.

It was completely uncharacteristic of Manchester United to still stay strong after conceding. We have seen this team lose their will to play the minute that they fall behind in a game but yesterday was special.

It was Garnacho’s brace that got them back into the game. Another positive was Marcus Rashford looking confident on the pitch and even picking up an assist for himself.

But, the cherry on the top for all Manchester United fans was Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker has finally scored his first Premier League goal, the drought is over! Pundit Alan Shearer believes that this could be a ‘game changer’ for the player.

Let’s have a look at what he had to say about the entire situation. (h/t BBC)

“He’s had to put up with a lot, fairly at times and unfairly at times because of the lack of service,”

“Going forward that could and should mean so much to him. We all talk about goals making the difference for forwards. That should be fantastic for him.”

Fans seem to share Shearer’s views. Hojlund finally grabbing his first Premier League goal and doing it at such a crucial time will help him do better as the team moves on to new challenges.
