The Dutchman has confirmed Manchester United’s stance on forward with an expiring contract ahead of Aston Villa matchup
Manchester United are preparing to take on Aston Villa for their Boxing Day fixture. Now, they may be preparing but not a lot of people are expecting them to pull away with the game.
Aston Villa have been in tremendous form this season. They are one point behind Premier League table toppers Arsenal. No one expected the Villans to be in this position in December
The same cannot be said for Manchester United. The Red Devils have been abysmal on the field. Out of 26 games played the Old Trafford squad has dropped a shocking 13.
During such trying times some changes are surely on the horizon. One such change would be the offloading of Anthony Martial who has done absolutely nothing for the team this season.
With the player being a liability on the field, Manchester United have been looking to offload him before his contract expires next summer.
Well, that was the consensus before Ten Hag confirmed the club’s stance. Let’s look at what the Dutchman had to say. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“When we have news then, of course, I will tell it. But that is not our aim.”
This all but confirms that Man United are not looking to immediately sell the player. But, the situation can change at any time. Martial was booed off by fans against Bournemouth on December 9 and hasn’t played for the team since then.

Anthony Martial is a separate matter, right now the team has bigger problems to take care of.
Even though it seems inevitable Manchester United must do everything they can to win against the Villans. A loss at this stage could have catastrophic outcomes for the Dutchman.
